1. Do you support amending the DA for rebuilding the Haven Amphitheatre stage if a broad community consensus emerges for a modified design for a functional stage?

Hugh Eriksson

YES. Agree we can modify to make it better and easier to build, obviously we have current building standards that we have to work within.

Wendy Norton

YES

YES

John Moratelli & Team

YES. Our policy is to resolve The Haven Amphitheatre redevelopment proposal to allow for live performances whilst retaining bushland gully character. We don’t think the current DA is consistent with this aim.

Tanya Taylor

YES. I would be supportive of having the DA amended, provided that broad community consensus is achieved and accessibility is still maintained.  One of my platforms is around inclusivity - we need to make our spaces available to everyone.

Craig Campbell

2. Do you support establishing a fully budgeted rebuilding timetable to reinstate Willoughby’s Haven Amphitheatre stage in 2022?

Hugh Eriksson

YES. We already have a path forward in the budget however I would work with the new Council to see if this could be amended; as we know we have 13 Clrs and we need to get their support not just SBW Clrs

Wendy Norton

.... Doesn’t this depend on amending the DA? I can’t say how long this will take, let alone predict how long any rebuilding will be. This is further complicated by the suggestion that there is a need for a broad community consensus to emerge. Happy to discuss what process is envisaged and how I might facilitate it.

Tanya Taylor

YES. Yes of course, this makes complete sense.  It would be great to see the stage reinstated as soon as possible.  I would LOVE to see Christmas Carols at the Haven in 2022!

Craig Campbell

YES.  There is already money set aside for the Council portion, so as soon as a design is ready to go it’s just a matter of funding the rest.

3. Do you support considering relieving the burden on the community to contribute half the cost of the stage rebuild.?

Hugh Eriksson

YES. If possible federal/state Govt grants could take up the need for community assistance in the budget rebuild.

Wendy Norton

YES

Roy McCullagh & Team

YES. It is not good enough to say that it costs too much...... this is 2021 not 1921. Let's make it happen.

John Moratelli & Team

.... I would consider this but can’t commit without knowing the cost, the likely use, council’s financial position, and more about the history of the matter.

Tanya Taylor

YES. If the council is not in a position to foot the entire bill (which I doubt given the Covid debt that has emerged), I am sure there are other sources that could be considered (if they haven't already).  I have a background in sponsorship and grantmaking (as well as fundraising for volunteer organisations) and could offer some advice in this regard.

Craig Campbell

YES.  Ideally a grant could cover this, but I’m open to it regardless.

YES. Absolutely. I believe we can comply with relevant laws without building a Taj Mahal.
